On Thursday 22th November 2007 Emine Sevgi Özdamar visited Ilmenau to read out of her books.
The reading was held in the BC Studenten Cafè. In my opinion the ISWI-Team and the team of BC-Cafè create a very cosy atmosphere.
She read out of „Das Leben ist eine Karawanserei - Hat zwei Türen - Aus einer kam ich rein - Aus der anderen ging ich raus“ („Life Is a Caravanserai: Has Two Doors I Came in One I Went Out the Other“) and „Seltsame Sterne starren zur Erde“ (Oddly Stars stare at Earth [free translation]).
The people who came to listen to the reading really enjoyed it because nobody wanted her to stop.
After the lection the audience had the chance to ask questions of everything they liked. So she were ask about what she thinks about the effect of today’s theatre in comparison with the Epic Theatre of Bertolt Brecht during the 1960s, about differences between French and German audience, why she starts writing books and many things more.
