ISWI 2009

It's Time to create

Deadline: 15th January 2008

Dear friends of ISWI,

now that ISWI 2007 is over, we are already planning the forthcoming conference in 2009. While discussing possible topics and mottos of the event, we came up with, what we think is a great idea. „Why not ask the experts - Why not ask you?“

If you are interested in being part of the planning process, we would like to invite you to the discussion about the topic and motto of ISWI 2009 at http://www.iswi.org/iswi07_forum/ Or you can send us your proposals via e-mail at topic@iswi.org . Then we will put it into the discussion forum for further discussion.

There is no guarantee that your ideas are chosen, but in case we do, you as the creator will be listed in our Infobook and on our posters. The official creator is the person who makes the suggestion first.

By using the ISWI discussion forum you have the chance to discuss different topics and ideas. We are very interested in your points of view because ISWI is a project for you from you. We would be pleased if you published your suggestion on our forum. For every topic please create a new thread to get a better overview.

For the discussion forum you can use your ISWI log in. If you don't know it anymore please use your ISWI-ID which you have got with the mail as your username and use the remind-function.

We are looking forward to receiving as many ideas as possible and to experiencing a lively discussion.

Please remember the deadline of 15th January 2008.

With kind regards Your ISWI Team

Topic of ISWI 2009

It is done – the theme of the ISWI 2009 is created!

After reviewing all the proposals and lots of discussion the ISWI-Org-Team proudly presents the topic of the ISWI 2009:

“Human Rights”

Let us explain the idea:

In December 2007 we asked you to send us your proposals for the topic of the ISWI 2009. We received a lot of great ideas.

After analysing them we came to the conclusion that we can combine all the ideas into one main topic. We realised that all of your proposals were focused on basic human rights e.g. the right to be different from each others, the right to have an own culture or the right to have a healthy life in a healthy environment or the right to live in freedom without any war or the right to have an education and so on.

There is a declaration of the Human Rights, which was signed by many of the nations of this world. But what about its realisation? Day-to-day, human rights are violated, abused – also in western countries.

What can we do to enforce the Declaration of Human Rights in all parts of the world? This is the question for the ISWI 2009: As you can see, there is a lot of work to do!

Motto and Date of ISWI 2009

At first we ask you to be creative and help us to find a new topic. Than after analysing them we have proudly present the new topic „Human Rights“.

So today we can say that ISWI 2009 will take place from 8 May to 17 May 2009 and the conference will have the slogan „Right Now“

The whole Org-Team of ISWI 2009 ist looking forward to welcome you in Ilmenau.

ISWI Organisation Committee

Non Students

Hello everyone
Thank you for stopping by. We really appreciate your interest in the ISWI 2009, because for us that means you enjoyed the last ISWI or heard good things about it.
Unfortuately some things in financing have changed since the last ISWI. The restrictions got tighter and because we are a International Student Week we are not able to give people who are not studying the same status as students. This means that if you are not a student you can´t participate as a regular participant. The same for the position of a groupleader, it also requires a student status.
Of course there is still the possibilty that you participate as a visitor, but please remember you do not have the same status, so you can´t be financed or participate in the groupwork. We are sorry that we have to disappoint some of you but hope you understand.
